UC2025 Theme: Resilient and Sustainable Research and Education Networks for the Future
On 30-31 October 2025, the UbuntuNet Alliance convened the research and education networking community for a conference hosted by ZIMREN in Harare. Centered on the theme “Resilient and Sustainable Research and Education Networks for the Future,” the event tackled the critical challenge of maintaining robust digital infrastructure in the face of new threats. Participants delved into building this resilience through advanced cybersecurity, next-generation connectivity, and inclusive policy frameworks. The dialogue underscored the essential link between fair digital access, eco-friendly operations, and global collaboration in supporting world-class research. Through keynotes, panel debates, and research presentations, the event charted a course for the future of the region’s RENs, focusing on high-performance computing, open science, disaster preparedness, and sustainable financial models.
